Sterling International School (SIS) is privileged to have Health and Wellness Centres in the Schools which are managed by a fully qualified nursing staff. The nursing staff comprises of three full-time registered nurses and two trained nursing assistants. The staff maintain current professional development certification as required by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Ghana.
The nursing staff primarily handle First-Aid cases and make referrals for the more serious medical cases. As part of their responsibilities, the nurses also oversee the dining services, ensuring that the outsourced caterers consistently meet SIS rigorous health, hygiene and safety requirements. The nurses also inspect the quality of the food and ensure that students have nutritional options.
The nursing staff are dedicated to providing high quality healthcare services for the SIS Community. This is accomplished through essential and prolonged illness management, disease prevention and coordination of regular health screenings, health education, counseling and consultations.
